Your Confidential Savingram No.980, dated 30th December, 1947: Salary Scale for Auditor.
1. In your Savingram under reference you raised the point whether the scale for this post should not start at $720 per month like the Administrative scale, with provision for entry at a higher point if certain qualifi cations are present, rather than at 8000 per month as suggested originall, by the Salaries Commission.
2. On being informed that you were willing to grant increments on the scale if a candidate had certain qualifications, the Director of Audit enquired as to the nature of these qualifications. The concession may affect the revised salaries of some of the present staff of kis Department.
3. I should be grateful, therefore, if you would forward details of the special qualifications which would enable an officer to receive increments in the revised salary scale for Auditor.
